In the past few years, Nik and I have been cultivating a Christmas tradition: we spend the holiday getting sushi. There's plenty of opportunity elsewhere in the year for turkey. And sushi restaurants are always open for the holiday. Ours is the Minado sushi buffet in Natick -- a magical place. You haven't experienced our kind of Christmas until you've heard "Feliz Navidad" at a sushi bar with about 200 Asian people lining up for raw tuna while Latinos and Filipinos behind the counter slice fresh Philadelphia rolls. It's fantastic.
Nik never grew up with the turkey tradition, anyway. For most of her childhood, Christmas dinner was lobster Cantonese.
